Advocacy journalism?

Posted October 2nd, 2009 at 7:57 AM by SamH

I’m certainly not saying that breast cancer isn’t an important issue that affects everyone in one way or another, but —without being critical —- I have to ask this question: Does the N&R’s pink newspaper cross the line into advocacy journalism?

I’d show what the print edition looks like, but for some reason it’s not here.

Update:

Of all the egregious things that this rag does, advocating to fight breast cancer is probably not a big deal. I’m sure that they will print a blue edition to advocate against prostate cancer…won’t they?

And, how about a yellow edition to advocate for our troops in battle.
