G’boro resident Larry Lapple echoes the theme repeatedly repeated here regarding federal grants— so-called ‘free money’ for cities, for which G’boro has become an Obama favorite:
It’s unfortunate the News & Record editors have not connected the dots from federal to local issues. The N&R touts the $1 million federal grant bestowed to Greensboro. A grant is the benign term used for the Bowles-defined “cancerous spending” of taxpayer (current and future) money as well as borrowed money. Where is the N&R editorial pressing the City Council to look past free (cancerous) money, think about the long-term health of our country and be one of the ones to just say no?
