G’boro: One of Obama’s favorites

Greensboro gets a $1 million grant as part of the Obama administration’s “Strong Cities, Stronger Communities” program.

City Manager Denise Turner Roth wants to keep the money flowing:

“We have been looking for opportunities to become one of their favorites,” she said. “They give away a lot of money for planning and infrastructure. … We hope to be able to continue to draw their attention.”

Yippee. Now everybody go vote for Obama.

No doubt that these monies will be squandered on brother-in-law,
make work, no show, mozy around jobs ( that 3 letter word.. Joe Biden )

Reminds me of the stimulus money being used to hire folks to do energy audits where they found, shockingly, households having open windows while the A/C was runnig full throtle.* Duh ! More waste piled on waste.

    * The stimulus bill, signed by President Barack Obama in February 2009, has brought $38.4 million into the Greensboro area.

For the $23.2 million that went directly to the city, the equivalent of about 45 1/2 full-time jobs have been created so far, according to the city of Greensboro.

That includes the three new full-time employees that Enpulse hired for its energy -efficiency project.
