Monkey on the run in Clemmons

Winston-Salem Journal reports.

PETA has filed a formal complaint with the federal government over Wake Forest University’s possible violation of the Animal Welfare Act:

“While we’re cheering for this monkey, who has gained independence from her captors just in time for the Fourth of July, Wake Forest’s ineptitude has led this monkey into a foreign environment that will be especially terrifying and dangerous as fireworks explode in the coming days,” said a PETA statement issued Tuesday.

The monkey apparently escaped from WFU on Friday, and Forsyth County Animal Control didn’t hear about it until Monday, when a resident reported a monkey in her back yard.

BTW, an animal control officer said this his first ‘monkey call’ in his 13 years on the force.

Rep. Hamilton’s fracking vote

Here’s the logic behind Rep. Susie Hamilton’s ‘vote of conscience that cost her a Green Tie award from the North Carolina League of Conservation Voters —if we don’t do something about fracking now, then the Republicans will really screw the environment when if they sweep in November.

Or—-movie jobs are green jobs.
