Now there’s another fight “believed to involve as many as 10 students” at Northeastern High School, weeks after a 220-pound 14-year-old sent a school resource officer to the operating room after throwing him against a set of lockers. Correct me if I’m wrong, the incident involving the SRO is just now being reported in the N&R, weeks after after the Rhino reported it.

Last week Gov. Bev Perdue said she “will go to bed every night hoping to get every red cent back that Dell has received.” Now state officials say they will recover only about $1.5 million of the $8.5 million provided in economic incentives to Dell.

Winston-Salem Police Sgt. Mickey Hutchens died after he was shot responding to what is being described as a domestic disturbance at the Bojangles on Peters Creek Parkway. Hutchens, along with Officer Daniel Clark, pursued Monte Denard Evans and a shootout ensued, whereupon both Hutchens and Clark were shot, as was Evans, who was killed.Read full article » No Comments »
